Spurs steal Game 1 of the WCF from OKC in double OT, Wemby with a monster stats of 41 points and 24 rebounds

An absolute classic unfolded in Paycom Center as the San Antonio Spurs outlasted the Oklahoma City Thunder 122-115 in a double-overtime thriller to tip off the 2026 Western Conference Finals.

The headline of the night was a monster game by Victor Wembanyama, and we have not seen a player produce those numbers in a long time, these are Wilt Chamberlain numbers!!! The sophomore phenom carried San Antonio to victory with a jaw-dropping 41 points and 24 rebounds, silencing the OKC crowd and snapping the Thunder’s perfect postseason run.

This dramatic, grueling opener sets a fascinating tone for the rest of the matchup. Depending on how the top-seeded Thunder respond to this physical wake-up call, this series could be one of those NBA classic games that you get to rewatch over and over again, or a sweep for OKC if they switch gears and completely lock down!

If you missed Game 1 of the WCF, you can watch the extended full game 1 highlights that the NBA just released(above).  Enjoy! The drama isn’t going anywhere, either; Game 2 will remain in OKC this Wednesday evening as they look to even the series.
